Bugri Naabu Took GHc2,000 Before He Appointed Council of Elders Members – Former N/R NPP Chairman

The former Northern Regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Haruna has revealed that his successor, Bugri Naabu took GHc2000 before appointing the Northern Regional members of council of elders.

He made this revelation during an interview with host of Diamond FM’s afternoon political talk show “Siasa Saha” in Tamale.

He denied that he failed to get appointed because he couldn’t pay the two thousand Ghana cedis. “Because he fears some of us, that is why he didn’t ask us to pay. But those appointed paid”, he said.

This came as a results of Bugri Naabu withdrawing some names from the list of the members of N/R council of elders to pave way for his favorites to get appointed.

In other related issues, Alhaji Haruna gave Bugri a blow on his chest, during a meeting to address issues bothering the party in the region at Modern City hotel.

When asked if he actually hit the chairman as purported, he said “yes”. And added that “he was lucky he didn’t hit him again”.

“I should have given him two blows. Even the youth who took me away were angry after I explained to them, and said I should allow them to go and beat him”, he concluded.
