Tamale Metro Assembly (TaMA) Registers 26 Evicted Forest Dwellers For Empowerment

Savannadiaries.com can confirm that twenty six (26) youngsters who were evicted from the forest reserves within the Tamale Metropolis have been registered to be supported in various forms.

The support comes in a form of skill, apprenticeship, business and education. This, according to the Mayor , will go along to rehabilitate the evicted youngsters and provide them livelihood.

“TaMA, yesterday registered 26 youngsters who were evicted from the forest. We will work with them put them into apprenticeships, education and businesses”, the Mayor posted on his Facebook wall.

He also calls on other children or teenagers who were affected by the exercise to feel free and come to register at his office.

“All former forest dwellers between 10 and 18 are encouraged to come to the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly to register. If you have read this post and know a youngster who was evicted from the forest, encourage him to get in touch with us. We also want to talk to their parents or guardians”, he concluded.
