N/R: SABOBA RESIDENTS ANGRY WITH GOVERNMENT OVER LACK OF DRINKING WATER

The residents of Labaldo and Bungeng communities in the Saboba district have expressed displeasure over the inability of government to provide them with portable drinking water.

In an interview with Savanna Diaries, some residents lamented over the unavailability of portable drinking water in the communities.

They further revealed that opinion leaders of the affected communities have over the past years called on authorities in the district to provide them with bole holes but yielded no results.

According to them, many water projects are ongoing within the district but the said communities have never benefited.

Meanwhile, the residents of one of the communities, Labaldo, share the only available source of water with livestock.

“…our reputation has been soiled because we are disregarded by authorities of this district. Now we live in fear of possible cholera outbreak due to the poor nature of the water we consume” a resident said.

They are therefore appealing to government and the philanthropists across the country to come to their rescue.
