President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has congratulated retired Major Sulemana Abubakari as the newly enthroned substantive chief of the Tolon traditional area in the Dagbon Kingdom of the Northern Region of Ghana.
The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Sae-ed delivered the message at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi yesterday, 27th March, 2019.
He was there to witness the coronation of Tolon-Naa Major (RTD) Sulemana Abubakari.
The Tolon-Naa assumes full responsibility for the Tolon traditional area following the successful performance of his late father, Tolon-Naa Sulemana Alhassan’s funeral which was climaxed on Friday March 22, 2019.
Salifu Sa-eed was optimistic that all outstanding funerals would be performed and the substantive chiefs enthroned.
He appreciated the rapidity with which Yaa-Naa Abukari Mahama II is enthroning substantive chiefs for the vacant skins in the Dagbon Kingdom.
The memorable occasion brought together sons and daughters of Dagbon from near and far.
Tolon-Naa retired Major Sulemana Abubakari thanked the Yaa-Naa for the honour.
He promised to unite his people for constructive purposes.
The current Tolon-Naa Sulemana Abubakari (RTD) was the Regent of Tolon since June 6, 2001.
He was very instrumental throughout the processes leading to peace restoration in the Dagbang Kingdom.
As a distinguished retired Major of the Ghana Armed Forces, the new Tolon-Naa is a development oriented person who is loved by the people of Dagbang.
The Tolon-Naa, Major (RTD) Sulemana Abubakari, the Yoo-Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani, the Mion-Lana Abdulai Mahamadu and the Diare-Lana are the first four appointed cabinet members of Yaa-Naa Abukari Mahama II.
